Wildlife Biologist - Mikaela Gerwing

 

Mikaela Gerwing is Wildlife Biologist and they are important to the safety and preservation of animal species, but they also benefit society as a whole. They observe animals in their natural habitats and conduct experimental studies to test for environmental hazards, diseases and unusual movement patterns. She have even protest in many wildlife rights and its really good watching women participants doing that. I asked her about her very best experience with animals, She said that there were many nice memories to answer this, but one of the experience in wild was very powerful to her which really proved to be one wildlife biologist. Her experience in South Africa really made change in her goals to be in this journey of wildlife biologist where she volunteer a wild animal. She have been part of many different projects and have been successful in it but Taricaya Eco Reserve gave her a magical experience and she have been working there since last 5 years. In Taricaya she's conservative biologist and volunteer coordinator, where she have been working on one of the project of inter-connectivity of animals-environment and the people around amazon forest. In interview, Mikaela addressed lot many issues going in conservative today and they all are interconnected like wildlife issues,climate issues,human issues but the major one she said is IGNORANCE, where people know or don't know or they really don't care to know about the issues going on. Everyone plays important role in this and all should be together in this. Mikaela is very inspiring and she always wanted to do something for her country she said that she is making her career in something that give back. She had lot many options to travel around this world but she acknowledged her self and is serving her life in giving back to this beauty of earth in many ways. To highlight one of her point she said,"How many people are really excited to wake up every morning and are so excited to go to work?" she have been incredibly doing great work and motivating her team and she also talked about importance of indigenous knowledge and communities in biodiversity protection. The world is so beautiful and peaceful and Mikaela is doing great job in her life in saving our reserve.
